many bees, a restful afternoon

The following principles have been gently adapted from Cairn to guide us into the style of game I'm aiming for.

Entrusted Bonds

Players can trust one another to engage with character goals & party challenges, working their range of views toward a shared adventure.

Growing Seasoned

Success & failure depend on fictional elements, stakes being settled by the host in dialogue with the players; growth occurs during a game through storied encounters.

Harmful Potential

Characters in their power are also vulnerable to consequence. Harm is often possible when dice are rolled, but never inflicted at random without ample warning.

If in doubt, try it out...

Flourishing Agency

• Lean into your intuition alongside the given traits of your character.

• Rules fail to define a personality; enjoyment colors our portrayal.

• Seek consensus from other players before scampering ahead.

Deliberate Tactics

• Know that information will be openly shared when negotiating risk.

• Rely on curiosity to gain advantage and cautiously approach problems.

• Violence is a constant lurking choice, yet rarely affords a wise outcome.

Conscious Exploration

• Hold conversation with strangers motivated by their various interests.

• Inquisitive listening is more helpful than any resource written down.

• Play to see what happens; there be no proper singular way to advance.
